Community Maps & Visuals
While the location and number of wind turbines has been selected to minimise the visual effects on sensitive locations, nearby landowners and the Manaia and Okiawa townships, the turbines will be visible and have an impact on the landscape. The location is required to be close proximity to the Ballance Plant for the project to be economically viable.
The key visual effects area to Mt Taranaki is highlighted by the purple shaded area in the adjacent map. This area is privately owned land that includes part of Kokiri and Normanby Roads.
